Ship2Save Attends Prestigious Policy Primer for the U.S. Government
April 14th, 2005 - Montreal, Quebec
Ship2Save representatives recently participated in an important educational and policy setting executive session with the United States Government. The event, gathered the industry leaders in RFID to educate and discuss the privacy, business, and technological factors that are representative of today's Radio Frequency Identification industry.
Executive Business Analyst Konrad Konarski, one of the representatives present at the primer comments: "We're here to help educate and inform the United States Government about the ins and outs of RFID. To understand how we can help them and how they can help us, so that there is a synergy there. A synergy to help bring RFID into the mainstream, a synergy that will allow integrators like us to continue in our strive to develop innovative RFID solutions while respecting the [privacy] laws that govern the rights of the consumer."
Among U.S. Government attendees at the policy primer were Senator Conrad Burns and Senator Patrick Leahy. The two senators recognized the importance of Radio Frequency Identification within the world's economy and looked to the attendees to actively contribute to United States Governments RFID policy setting issues. Front and center was the issue of consumer privacy and how RFID technology must evolve to address these needs.
Amninder Singh, Director of IT Development at Ship2Save adds: "I think there is a clear and unanimous acceptance by the government that RFID is here to stay, and is here to help. Help the consumer, help the business owner, and help the government. So there is a lot more willingness on the part of these governmental institutions to walk hand-in-hand towards a common goal. The goal of a successful and safe future for RFID. That is what has happened here today, a gathering of RFID market leaders coming together to make RFID succeed."
