Ship2Save deploying RFID Compliance Center

January 18th, 2005 - Montreal, Quebec

Ship2Save proudly announces the official unveiling date of its RFID Compliance facility. This state of the art facility will house a highly advanced electronically controlled Radio Frequency Identification enabled conveyor system that will provide vendors the ability to test and verify their individual products against retail mandates. Analogously, this facility will serve as a cross-docking, barcode to RFID translation solution. It will offer vendors the ability to transform their existing barcode data to RFID, re-label with RFID tags, and subsequently re-assemble the palettes for outgoing shipment.

Chief Software Architect Lava Kumar comments: "The center will not only provide a transparent compliance for the vendors, but will ironically deliver an extensive arena for us at Ship2Save to look beyond simple compliance. This facility allows us to extend our existing testing labs, providing manufacturing like conditions, conditions that can simulate true supply-chain activity. Conditions that outside of our labs here at Ship2Save are only seen in the real-world environment."

The 8000 sq-ft compliance center will extend the existing 2000 sq-ft testing facility already fully deployed at Ship2Save. The center is scheduled to open April 15th 2005, with several large clientele already on-board awaiting the repacking and testing services it has to offer.

Executive Business Analyst Konrad Konarski elaborates "This compliance facility allows suppliers to continue doing business with their retailers by providing this type of barcode to RF service. It will ease customers into the technology, providing immediate satisfaction to the mandate at a nominal investment, while concurrently exploring and explaining the future adoption of RFID into their own internal infrastructure."

The center is geared to be one of the largest of its kind and will likely serve as a milestone for the emerging RFID marketplace. It has been developed by Ship2Save engineers in collaboration with various partners in the conveyor, RFID printer, and RFID Reader industries.

President and CEO Dino De Luca adds: "This warehouse will be exactly what everyone has been waiting for, an efficient, low cost method of compliance and complete testing ground for RFID. We firmly believe that the demand for this service will be tremendous."
